7 things you can do with oat milk

Milk is good for everyone! Where in the past we were served a glass of cow's milk as standard, nowadays we increasingly opt for vegetable variants such as oat milk. Not only healthy, but also a lot more sustainable. For example, the CO2 emissions for a glass of cow's milk are more than 3 times greater than a vegetable variant. Aside from that, it's also just plain delicious.

We prefer to use the barista oat milk from Oatly for our cappuccinos and lattes, but you can do a lot more with it! In this article you will find 7 things you can do with oat milk!

1. Matcha pudding with oat milk

Chia seeds can absorb up to 9 times their own weight. That makes it super easy to make pudding, when diluted with oat milk. For 2 servings, use 6 tablespoons of chia seeds, 500 ml oat milk, ½ tsp vanilla extract and optionally 1 tbsp maple syrup, honey or agave syrup. And now we have a tip: to give your pudding extra taste, replace the 500 ml milk for 500 ml matcha latte!

Preparation: take 1 capsule of I.AM.CAPS Matcha and use the espresso function of your Nespresso machine. Put this in a measuring cup and make up to 500 ml with oat milk. Stir in the rest and let it rest for at least 2 hours (tip: prepare the night before for a nutritious breakfast!). Top it off with strawberries and enjoy your breakfast.

2. For the kids: oat milk babyccino

Children prefer to spoon the milk from your cappuccino like this. That is why you can also order babyccinos on many terraces these days. This is warm oat milk with a little cinnamon or cocoa. Bring on that milk mustache!

3. Golden milk

Golden milk has Indian roots and many health benefits. The base is turmeric with other spices such as cardamom, cinnamon and ginger, heated with milk. Also called turmeric/Turmeric latte or turmeric tea. Turmeric contains many antioxidants that protect your body against bacteria and viruses. A golden milk is slightly creamy, ideal for using the barista version of oat milk. Add some agave syrup and ½ teaspoon coconut oil for a creamy turmeric latte!

Ready quickly? With the I.AM.CAPS Turmeric you can enjoy your own Golden Milk in no time at all.

4. Oat milk breakfast smoothie

Oats are full of fiber and protein. Oat milk is therefore the ideal basis for breakfast smoothies! Think of a chunky monkey smoothie with oat milk, peanut butter, banana and cocoa, or fruity with blueberry, avocado and lime.

5. Overnight oats

We mentioned earlier that oats are full of fiber, protein and vitamins. It's not for nothing that Brinta has become so big. To get the day off to a good start, you can opt for overnight oats. Instead of heating oats with milk into a porridge, let the same mixture sit in the fridge overnight. Because it is soaking, a porridge is also created, but all nutrients are preserved. You can also just heat it. Here too we prefer to use oat milk, at least it remains tasty.

Here's what you do: fill a breakfast bowl with oatmeal and sprinkle with cinnamon, kernels and seeds, unsalted nuts and if you have them at home; coconut grater. Mix everything together and pour in oat milk until the oatmeal is slightly submerged in 'water'. Place in the fridge and top with fruit, a spoonful of jam or some agave syrup the next morning. Enjoy!

6. Beetroot iced latte!

In other words, beetroot iced coffee! You heard it right, you make this iced latte as follows. Use 1 capsule of I.AM.CAPS Beetroot on the espresso setting. Let it cool down in the fridge (or freezer). Cooled down? Then add cinnamon, agave syrup and ice cubes and oat milk, frothed briefly in the milk frother. Pour in, put a straw in and your ultimate summer drink is ready for you! Tasty and healthy! Beets are full of iron and antioxidants. cheers!

I.AM.CAPS - your alternative to coffee

Every day we drink quite a bit of coffee in the Netherlands, with cappuccinos and lattes as the ultimate indulgence. Yet more and more people are also choosing to cut down, because large amounts of caffeine can be less healthy for you. To still enjoy your 'coffee moment', I.AM.CAPS offers an alternative to coffee. Namely: biodegradable capsules filled with organic herbs and spices. For example, you can easily make a matcha latte, a golden milk, a chai latte or a beetroot cappuccino with your Nespresso machine. And what should not be missing? Oat milk of course!

Oat milk can therefore be used in many ways as a plant-based alternative to cow's milk. For example, you can also make pancakes or scrambled eggs with it. How do you prefer your oat milk?
